Rohnert Park was incorporated in a summer election in 1962, making it the first town to incorporate in Sonoma County since 1905. The city was built from its beginning as a planned community, with residential neighborhoods designed around schools, shopping, and employment centers. The 2020 census recorded a population of 44,390 residents, reflecting steady growth over six decades.

The city's planned design gives Rohnert Park a distinct character compared to other Sonoma County communities. Residential neighborhoods are connected by clear street grids and green spaces, with schools and civic institutions placed to serve families. The city government has managed growth to maintain the balance between new residents and the infrastructure that serves them, keeping housing, schools and services accessible to working families and established households alike.

In a planned community built for families, the planning that matters most is personal: deciding what would need to continue if an earner stopped. Life insurance is the tool that lets a household make that choice deliberately. A term policy for 20 or 30 years covers the years when a mortgage, children, and school costs are heaviest—exactly the circumstances that define Rohnert Park's residents.
