Sonoma State University was established by the California State Legislature in 1960 and opened its doors in 1961 with just 274 students in leased buildings across Rohnert Park. In 1966, the university relocated to its permanent 215-acre campus, and by 1978 it had gained university status. Today it is part of the California State University system, one of the largest public university systems in the country.

The campus has grown to include residential facilities, cultural venues including the Green Music Center, and is home to students from across California and the world. Sonoma State is recognized for maintaining top graduation rates within the CSU system and was ranked the number one best college housing in California by Niche.com. The university offers more than 100 student clubs and organizations and is located just an hour north of San Francisco.

A university campus is a place of growth: students finish what they started, earn degrees, and move into careers that will support families of their own. Planning for the people who depend on you is what life insurance is about. As Sonoma State students and alumni settle into the region, a term policy sized to their income and years until their children are independent is the practical promise they make to the people they will provide for.
